The Winter School "Workshop in Deformation Theory III" will be held in the period February 19-23 2018 in Aula VI, ground floor, Department of Mathematics of the Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro (Bari, Italy).

Social Dinner

We are organizing a social dinner. It will take place on Thursday 22th at 7:30 pm at the restaurant Il Sottosopra, Via Niccolo Piccinni 110, see the map. There will be a complete menu including water and wine, which will cost about 25 euro.

How to reach us

Directions to Bari

  • By plane: the International Airport is well connected to many cities in Italy and Europe (served by Alitalia, Easyjet, Ryanair, Volotea, Wizzair, etc.).

    Once you are at the airport you can reach the Central Station by

    - bus (Tempesta, 4 Euro, approx. 30 minutes, tickets on board);

    - train (Ferrovie Nord Barese, 5 Euro, aprox. 15 minutes, tickets from machine at train station).

  • By train: Bari Central Station is served by Trenitalia (4 hours to Rome, Milan 7 hours, etc.).

  • The Workshop will be held at the Department of Mathematics inside the Campus, Via E. Orabona 4. More information can be found on the website of the Department (shamefully only in Italian) map of the campus, Campus.jpg and other suggestions.

    • The campus is not in the city center but you can easly reach it on foot or by bus.

  • From the Central Station you can:

    - walk (20/25 minutes);

    - take bus number 21, timetable. Tickets for a single ride (corsa semplice, it is enough to reach university) costs 1 euro; normal tickets cost 1,20 euro, they are valid for 90 minutes and allow to change bus. Seven day travelcard costs 12 euro. You can find tickets at newspapers shops, Tabacchi, Bar and from the kiosk in front of the train station, where the bus leaves.

  • There is another Bus, Navetta C Park&Ride, connecting the city center (Corso Cavour) with Parco 2 Giugno Parking, timetable.

Where to stay

Suggestions

The campus is not in the city center, so it is up to you if you prefer to stay in the city center or in the neighborhood of the campus. There are a lot of nice B&B around the city. As regard Hotels, we have contacted some of them, which proposed the following special price for participants (it is supposed to be cheaper than the rates of the hotel search engine, but it is better to check).

  • Hotel Campus (This is the only budget Hotel insiede the Campus). They proposed the following price (per night, including breakfast and tax): 35 euro (single room), 60 euro (double/twin room), 85 euro (triple room), including breakfast and car park; you have to contact the Hotel directly.
  • Hotel Moderno (3 stars, 600m far from the Central station). They proposed the following price (per night, including breakfast and tax): 79 euro (double room, single occupancy), 89 euro (double/twin room), 117 euro (triple room). This rates are valid until 27 December 2017; you have to contact the Hotel directly, specifying that you will attend the conference.
  • Grand Hotel Leon d'oro (4 stars, in front of the Central station). They proposed the following price (per night, including breakfast and tax): 75 euro (single room), 95 euro (double room); you have to contact the Hotel directly, specifying that you will attend the conference.
  • Hotel Victor (600m far from the Central station). They proposed the following price (per night, including breakfast and tax): 75 euro (single room), 95 euro (double room); you have to contact the Hotel directly, specifying that you will attend the conference.
  • Oriente Hotel (4 stars, 750m far from the Central station). They proposed the following price (per night, including breakfast and tax): 99 (superior room, single occupancy), 160 euro (superior double room). You have to contact the Hotel directly specifying that you will attend the conference.
